Live music from Super Chikan + Ryan Lee Crosby
Hush Puppy Music Co-op and Mississippi Valley State University present an all-ages free community event to highlight the Mississippi Delta Blues and celebrate Juneteenth. The show will take place at the Museum of the Mississippi Delta where a traveling guitar exhibit called “America at the Crossroads” will be on display. Doors will open at 6:30pm. At 7 pm Ryan Lee Crosby, a musical apprentice of Mississippi’s Jimmy Duck Holmes, will perform an opening set. Following this, James “Super Chikan” Johnson will perform his songs and discuss his guitar making. This event is made possible with support from Mississippi Valley State University’s River and Land Project, funded by the Mississippi Delta National Heritage Area, with additional support from the Museum of the Mississippi Delta and the Hush Puppy Music Co-op.
